Where did you catch them in performance? My prayers for them to come to Ohio were literally answered: they were meant to play just an hour from me... in April 2020

I've seen them in Boston twice and at the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville.

Ooh what a lucky man you was!

To those following at home: the Necks have been cleared for addition in Post/Math.

^Thanks for the effort, Gordy. The Necks has been my favorite discovery in the last decade (I came late to them. My first album was Three).

It's funny that you mention Next as probably their most traditionally Jazz Fusion album. It's the only album of theirs (out of the 20 or so, I know) that didn't resonate with me at all. Which is strange, considering how much Jazz Fusion I do love. And how fundamental the element of Jazz actually is in all of The Necks music. Somehow the more traditional approach simply isn't not their thing.

Triple album titled Disquiet coming up in October, btw. Can't wait:)

Lovely news worth logging-in for. My first album by The Necks I heard not many years ago and was Hanging Gardens. I knew that Michael Gira of Swans was a fan, and they have collaborated, so I did get more into The Necks via Swans (one thing leads to another). It is such a great album. I have subsequently explored quite a few more albums; wonderful band.
Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.
