2112-Hemispheres.

And they could still be a great band, if they stopped playing awful music.

ALL- EVERYTHING- (YES- EVEN THE 80's)

Why? It's what RUSH is- a band with a HUGE RANGE.- I love ALL their stuff.

A Farewell To Kings - Grace Under Pressure

I know that covers a couple of periods, but it also covers most of my fave albums...

Are they still a great band?  They always will be, although Vapor Trails wasn't everything I'd hoped for.

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

hmmm they are consistenly good.

I only listen to 2112 and AFTK, but I'd say 1977-1980 was their height

RUSH were great starting with Fly By Night uptill Grace Under Pressure (both inclusive) with exception for Signals (very mediocre). After 1984 - 20 years on and not one single decent song - complete disappointment and total disillusion. Please bear in mind - this is only my personal opinion, which, I am sure, many will disagree with, but nevertheless I believe it's true..

I think the late 70's was their best period.  I saw them when they were touring behind Hemispheres in 1978 and they were excellent.  They played for three hours.

I love all Rush from "Rush" to "Signals", and then "Counterparts" to present.  I don't care much for their Eighties material.  Now, I'd have to say that, in my opinion, "A Farewell to Kings" to "Permanent Waves" contains much of their best work.  But hey, it's Rush, its all good!

I feel that the 80s period is too underrated....

My favorite Rush period is from 1977 to 1981.

My least favorite is from 1982-1989.

For me from 2112 to Moving Pictures and wasn't that bad, the years around there, but anything like Grace Under Pressure or Roll the Bones  I'm afraid but Rush is not a great band anymore.

Fly by Night to Moving Pictures. I still like some of their 80s and 90s stuff but this period is the best hands down. I liked Vapor Trails and Feedback as well. I'm wondering what their next album will sound like...

"Fly By Night" is an amazing album, so is "Caress Of Steel", I can't understand how there are some Rush fans who don't appreciate those albums.

I'd put FBN especially, on the same level as 2112, Hemispheres, etc...
