Who said the forum is dead...we just need to talk about homosexuals more. 'Prog' was always about the music first and not about an image or lifestyle; anyone could be a progger but not everyone could be a punk or a metalhead. I'm not homophobic but I will say one thing; I hate being hit on by gay guys. The way they go about it makes me feel like a teenage girl being bothered by some old creep.

Well, a good friend of mine at Uni was homosexual and he loved prog rock, Rush and Dream Theater being his two favorites and were major influences on his music, so I don't think so?
I can't say other gay friends I had knew of prog, but then again most of my straight friends also don't know what prog is either. I have certainly had both laugh at me and my crazy music It's like how every few months a thread would pop up asking "Do girls like prog?" and most of us respond, we'd just like to meet anyone who knows prog It's just, not a very well known genre of music regardless of orientation, or gender, or anything unfortunately.

No, David, you're not! The issue is really serious but sometimes those neo-con dudes make us laugh even knowing how dangerous they are and how many people they can influence. In the USA people did a lot of memes concerning the picture I posted above: Edited by Atkingani - July 05 2015 at 11:46 |

We need to know their arguments. Apparently, I'am a person that was abused in my childhood, consume large amount of drugs and are depressive. Little did they know that I'am only addicted to Prog Music. |

Unfortunately, here in Brazil the situation is not good at all.
There are several congressman that formed a "Evangelic Front" against any advance we could have in women and LGBT rights. Malafaia is not a congressman but he is a spokesman of several of them. |

I don't think you were too lighthearted. Fun and seriousness go together in this thread. I agree with you and feel the same way. |

I apologise if I was a tad too light-hearted regarding this subject.
I am very lucky to live in a country that, mostly, has accepted gay people as normal folks with equal rights to marriage, have kids and so forth. I hope this Malafaia person doesn't get too much wind in his sails. He seems dangerous and wholly unsympathetic

I couldn't, Gustavo. The obnoxious Malafaia makes my stomach ache.

Indeed they do I saw this vid pop up on Facebook here the other day and I think I've watched it 5 times now. She is unbelievably funny, although that is probably not what she was going for ...and yes I could imagine her being quite the saucy minx in the bedroom |

I too believe the blind faith album cover was made without second or bad intentions however even 60's to date, I do think it is not right. Hey I too shock people sometimes about my open mind and provocative things that sometimes come out of my mouth, however that cover is a big no no.

To add something different, here goes:
Silas Malafaia, a neo-con monetary sheperd (nothing to do with you, Marcel ) who wants all gay people burning in 'hell' and Toni Reis, an activist for the gay's rights. Their faces show everything. Edited by Atkingani - July 05 2015 at 08:40 |

Good argument; don't put todays standards on the 1970's. I tend to agree with you. But on another level ... I recently saw a documentary about the 1970's were a well known Dutch socialist politician was doing a plea on national TV for accepting the practice of pedophelia. Just as long as the child is consenting. Zeitgeist too. To be perfectly clear: I do realize that's a whole different thing. The BF cover: yeah, it was probably innocent. ^ That's cool - NOT the cover - the fact you disagree with that whole idea. I got rid of the album, that cover was sooooo bad taste, appalling to say the least - and what's with that 'mercurial' looking aeroplane thingy she's holding ??? All kinds of wrong. The guy who came up with the idea needs to be castrated.
I do believe there's an alternate cover showing the band, like what picture was inside the gatefold. It is a very good album, with Do What You Like being one of the coolest songs from '69. |

I will not post the cover here, it's a visual image I do not want to see. In case others have doubts here is the album cover in discussion here. http://i.ytimg.com/vi/zW_tBcy8skw/hqdefault.jpg
