He's okay, but nothing like Portnoy.  If you want to hear an extremely amazing, underappreciated drummer, check out John Macaluso who plays with ARK.  Their album "Burn the Sun" has some of the best prog-metal drumming I've ever heard.

He's pretty solid, sounds like just based upon the music I checkes out on the site....the vocals drive me away, though...
