Wot?Are you seriously?Selling England By the Jester's Tear (2 LP version) was originally recorded by Emerson,Fripp & Ozzy (BTW,great band...any lovers of that one?),and then it was sold to mr.Van Der Graaf(widely known as Dietrich Hammil).

I've heard "In Praise of Learning" - it's got strong moments, but also a lot of pointless noodling, and those vocals really get on my nerves. Overall, though, it left a positive impression.

This thread should be called "Gerardo"... or "Ryszard"!

Wouldn't that be prog?

Right, Ed, right, everything's clear now, thank you, Ed, thank you.

So which Pendragon album do you want to talk about specifically?

I believe my fav is called "Blackwater Park"...

I totally love the soft synth-pop passages and that electric violin solo at the end of the album...

If the production was a bit more clear then I think that Rhapsody would've made into the MTV euro top 20... Such a loss...

What are you laughing at?

I mean really the weather is dreadful nowadays and people are fed up with it but that doesn't mean I can't hand my underwear outside in my garden to dry!!!!

No, it's supposed to be about Henry Cow!

But... but... but the title says, I quote -  'Dream Theater'. The title is supposed to say what the thread is about, isn't it? This is its function, isn't it? Isn't it? And 'Dream Theater' means 'Dream Theater', not 'Henry Cow'. 'Henry Cow' means 'Henry Cow'. Or do I have to read that Wittgenstein fellow again?

Metallica and 'ferocity', hmm...

Well, yes, Master of Puppets and And Justice... are quite ferocious, not only apparently. It's just that it was so long ago that seeing the two words in one sentence really made disturbed me.

Hang on, this thread is supposed to be about Dream Theater! Very cool band, indeed

I own Live at Budokan, Train of Thought, and Images and Words.

I listened to InW and was left with impression they ripped off rush's style of prog rock.  In short, DT's music is simply an amalgamtion of progressive styles of Rush and the apparent ferocity of Metallica.

DT sucks!!!  However, Budokan has its moments

Good Prog-Metal:

Opeth

Mars Volta

Symphony X

Speaking of Dream Theater, I'm listening to awake right now.
