RIP

This is truly a shame to read. A great underappreciated talent.

I'll be playing some HC for her tonight.

Wow, this is a total bummer.  I'm not very knowledgeable about the Cow but I'm aware of her stature and contribution to music.

She also contributed to the highly maligned second Comus album, an album which I personally like and will be pulling off the shelf tomorrow in her honor.

How sad. Cry
Such a talented composer and reed player.
I still play her soundtracks "Rags" and "The Golddiggers" often (see review on PA), and her side of HC's "Western Culture" has many of my favorite Henry Cow moments.

Rest in peace.

Very sad that she's had to be in the condition she was in physically for so many years.
Well Henry Cow comes to mind first for me. Her aboe and bassoon playing were remarkable. She guested on some special albums as well like Fish Rising, The Rotters' Club and Civil Surface. Such a talented lady who's gift will continue to be enjoyed by me and many others.

From Chris Cutler via Aymeric Leroy:

Just got this from Chris Cutler...

"So sorry to pass on this unhappy news. Lindsay died this afternoon. She had contracted pneumonia and spent the last six days at home surrounded by a few old friends. She died very peacefully. The funeral will be next Wednesday 25 September at 4:30 PM at Golders Green crematorium."

Many here know that Lindsay was suffering from a particularly acute and debilitating form of multiple sclerosis, which took a turn for the worse in the late 1990s rendering her unable to perform, and ultimately unable to do very much at all. A great tragedy for such a talented performer and composer.

May she now rest in peace.

We've lost another brilliant musician, one who unfortunately had to battle illness for many years.  Please feel free to use this thread to talk about some of her work that you most enjoy.
