The first 4 or 5 minutes of Shine On are pure bliss.

Shine On has great childhood memories for me, whereas I didn't hear Echoes until the 1980s.

Echoes is a desert island epic-pic. I think i can understand why others like Shine, but I don't..

I said Echoes was my favorite in the last PF poll and I will say it again. Shine On, though, what a great song that is too.

I like them both, both are very different so it is hard to judge one over the other.

Shine is that one song that goes completely over my head. I haven't understood the incredible praise it's received.

Of course I love both, but in the end I like Shine On slightly better... it might actually be my very favourite song of all time... specially if I consider all 9 parts as a single song.

Just finished listening to Meddle and WYWH in entirety back to back. As always after finishing m thinking-which one is better.
During this particular listen i enjoyed 'SOYCD' a lot..maybe coz i played it today almost after an year..
For 'Echoes' i hav always felt it to be essential Pink Floyd and essential space rock..and i still play it at least once a week. Echoes
