Do Bing crosby and Perry Cumo quality as prog.. if not.. forget about it.. I can't think of a single one.

There is the Charlie Brown christmas album.. and none others...

Several tracks from Songs From The Wood do it for me (hell the whole album really)....especially the  title track and Solstice Bells.

I can totally see that. Classic Genesis has a wintry sound to me. Likewise, the live version of Led Zep's The Rain Song from The Song Remains the Same has always given me a strong sense of Christmas. I suspect it's for similar reasons - I must've heard first heard it as a teenager during the holiday season.

Supper's Ready has always reminded me of xmas. May have something to do with the Christian flirtations, but I gather it's more to do with me having played it non-stop at last year's xmas get-together. No not the one that features mom and grandpa but the one with longhaired blokes and illegal cigars.

That Pogues track is one of my all-time favorites. (I guess a lot of people feel the same way Wink

Looking at your list that includes Waits, Jansch and Cockburn, I had the sudden recurring thought that I'd love it if Nick Cave made a Christmas album, in the kind of gothic sound of his albums The Boatman's Call and No More Shall We Part.

I agree in regards to the Tull album, Michael (but Tull's original "Christmas Song" from Living in the Past was much better than the version on the album). I don't equate these to prog (and a few you've listed aren't technically prog either), but here are ten favorites:

I'm not asking for prog Christmas albums. That's been done many times here, and frankly the pickings are really slim. The *only* one I really like is Jethro Tull's Christmas album.

But how about prog songs that seem wintry or Christmas-y to you? Or they mention Christmas in the lyrics? Suppose you were going to make a playlist, what might you include?
