Geddy Lee
Chris Squire
Lemmy ( for his work on Space Ritual alone)
John Entwhistle
Then a toss up between
Pete Trewawas Jonas Reingold and Mike Rutherford
i see lots of nods to Myung, but on half of Dream Theaters albums he's so far down the mix you cant even hear the guy...

Levin is amazing, and Wetton is underrated. And, R.I.P. John Entwhistle...

Hard to keep it to just 5, but here goes:
Tony Levin
Trey Gunn
Chris Squire
John Wetton/Geddy Lee (tie)
Ray Shulman/Michael Rutherford (tie)
If I start including jazz-rock bassists, the list becomes:
Jaco Pastorius
Jeff Berlin
Alain Caron
Tony Levin
Trey Gunn
3 KC bassists, 6 bassists who toured or recorded with Bill Bruford and 2 Canadians.

Well, if it weren't limited to Prog I'd be putting Victor Wooten in here. I don't think anyone plays bass better than that. But for prog:
Andreas Blomqvist, Geddy Lee, John Myung, Jonas Reingold, Chris Squire

Sorry man, but Gavin Harrison is Porcupine Tree's drummer.
The bassist is Colin Edwin.
I don't know which you still like, but those are their roles.

Oh god!! Hehe.. woops, yeah I knew that, that's what sleep deprivation will do to you. Thanks for pointing that out.

Spoken like a man who´s never heard Percy Jones play
Just kidding - this is all about taste. Some like gummy bears and others are fond of licorice. NI!!!!!

I also thought that... but in my case it's because I really like his playing. The fact that he was in Genesis is a great "plus" in his career. I've always considered him a great player, although not matching Squire or Shulman (I shall edit my top 5...)
