| There are a few posting milestones. Five posts before you can post in other forums. I think it's 40 posts/points before you can vote in polls. Welcome!

I will try to listen to VDGG more, I already have 3 of their albums.

I owe you an apology for being a slightly miserable git. Strange, I was in a good mood when I posted, as well.
Anyhow, croeso i PA. |
Lazland, you cute silly sodda, I see no reason for you to apologize. You were honest and very nice too i.e. I love the Beatles (especially Paul McCartney), also Queen, Pain of Salvation etc plus so many more, when others don't like them I will not budge hihihi you are too nice and proper, I bet your voice sounds very nice like BBC and/or Sky News peeps. Big hug

Enjoy your time here, Mr Dragon! I'm more a geek than a nerd, but I'm sure we'll all get on well! Don't worry, there's a few of us that struggle with Van der Graaf Generator, soon we shall form a mighty army...or most likely the equivalent of a small clubhouse.

When someone says "Hello Nerds" I feel addressed, so... Hello... and welcome to this forum! Van der Graaf Generator is OK for me, but it took me many a year to appreciate Peter Hammill's vocals. They are really an acquired taste, and in a few cases their songs just drag on (Meurglys III is a fine example).

I am 28 years old and I like prog rock and metal music.
My favourite prog bands in no order are Tool, Camel, King Crimson, Genesis, Yes, Caravan and many more.
Recently tried listening to Van Der Graaf Generator and I don't get them, the singer is terrible, they have no hooks and their songs just drag on.
Thats me

Hello Elderdragon Welcome to Bethlam I also like the 70's bands you mentioned very much! You ought to listen to the new greats now too, hopefully here you'll find many new and old never heard before gems too Awww Lazland as per your comment, it's his prerogative to hear and like what he likes. Eldergragon, Lazland is a shining star here but he is a big softy too thus do not mind what he said here, he is pulling your pants another hug to you and to Lazland too, group hug yay [QUOTE=lazland]Well, sut mae. You have managed, in your post title, to piss us all off by addressing us as nerds, upset every single right minded VDGG fan by a derogatory remark about one of the most respected singers in rock history, and obtained a remark by Wallace. ..............................................................

^Don't sweat it. Mr Assburn or Wallace as he's named is no longer a member of this site. He comes on a couple of times a year and acts like this. At least we gave him a chance to prove us wrong this time, but I guess he is allergic to being kind or acting like an adult.

I don't think you're being really nice to this guy. Just say if you were offended, there's no need to call him 'nothingness'. I don't think he did anything wrong at all.

It's just an introduction with a bit of humor injected. Plenty of users here have a sense of humor and contribute still. What happened to yours?

Welcome! Yeah, nerd isn't really an insult anymore. Also, like has been said everyone is entitled to their opinions.

To each their own, I guess! There's lots of catchier type prog among our archives with influences in the favorites you already have listed. Happy exploring Some people don't believe that anyone could dislike one of the holy cows of progressive rock - but hey, I'm a transsexual film maker with a love for prog and dance, who am I to judge? It takes all types, doesn't it? Welcome

Oh, I see. A milky 28 yahre old.
Myself being an adherent of the opinion of the general degeneracy of youth, I denouncethy VDGG-dissing and put it down to (smug) inexperience.
You are proud to be inexperienced, are you not my Welsh 28 year old?
