Trouble accessing the site

It turned out to be a problem with a wireless network connection that I installed a few months ago - I just rebooted it and voila!

Only took me 3 days to figure out - mind you, they say Einstein was a slow starter as well .

Tony - I've got Norton 2005 installed for virus protection, but still use the Windows firewall. I've tried adjusting the settings on both but no joy.

Cobb - I've downloaded adaware and I'll run it this evening. I get the feeling that I'm missing something blindingly obvious here, but I'm not much of a computer geek unfortunately.

That's odd. I use Firefox and sometimes close it without signing out and it doesn't seem to cause problems. Do you have a firewall?

Yep, I've got broadband and can connect to any other site that I want to (as far as I know). It's just this one and another site I have to sign into.

Just recently my home computer has been behaving oddly. This is the second site that I have had trouble accessing, the other also being an online forum where I have to sign in. I have adjusted my browser to accept cookies from here, added it to my trusted sites and even tried accessing it via Firefox but it still says 'cannot find server'. I'm having the same trouble with FTP. The only link that occurs to me is that both sites require me to sign in, and I've closed the browser without signing out in both cases. I can still access both sites from work, but if anyone has any bright ideas about solving this I'd be grateful. Incidentally, I've also run system restore but that didn't work either.
