No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

Some nice links there! Jaga Jazzist have some powerful tracks. Miles Davis sounds pretty angry on some live albums. One of my absolute favourite jazz rock tracks: |

Not to me. I hear much more jazz influence in Caravan. To me Camel is more classical and thus symphonic sounding. There is some jazz in Camel but it's very subtle and not very dominant. Caravan is much more jazzy(imo).

One of my favourite Jazz-Rock artists is the British band, Audience. They released four albums in the late 60's and early 70's:-

Fiery is the word that comes to my mind.
Loving your choices, Vipster. I only knew Phlox and Luarvik Luarvik of those. For energetic, and less refined, and modern, Elephant9 springs to my mind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVyAyh2ygfA For classics, Area (also various Soft Machine, National Health and Matching Mole, as well as other Canterbury Scene): |

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I observed before. It can be much like that with music for me; immersed in experiencing the moment.

Thanks!
I'm a big fan of Camel (and pretty much all prog classics), but at the moment I'm looking for something more unrefined, raw, faster and angry(?). I was thinking about going through Zappa's catalog from a different angle.

Hi! I was making a playlist for bands that are jazzy and/or proggy and eccentric. These are all from the Baltics that I've personally seen/heard but it's hard to find more similar stuff. I'll post an example of each and maybe someone can recommend similar stuff from other parts of the world: Luarvik Luarvik - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN3sayGFOO8 Wrupk Urei - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLwx_rm-R0I Džiazlaif - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lLndYhIK40 Sheep Got Waxed - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2exLmgqX1m4 Edited by vipster - September 28 2019 at 09:25 |
