Noted, thanks Smile
Take me down, to the underground
Won't you take me down, to the underground
Why oh why, there is no light
And if I can't sleep, can you hold my life

Formed in 2003, Locust Leaves were a Greek extreme progressive metal duo consisting of multi-instrumentalist Helm and vocalist Nick K. Signed to I, Voidhanger Records, the two combined their love of progressive, black and thrash metal, painstakingly composing and recording material of a unique and forward-thinking nature, making their 2012 entrance with the song "Promise" on a split release with atmospheric black metal band Spectral Lore.

Years in the making, Locust Leaves finally released their first LP, A Subtler Kind of Light, in 2017, with guest appearances by Spectral Lore's Ayloss and Dimitrios Dorian of Zemial and Agatus. Featuring striking artwork drawn by Helm, the duo' debut is a loose concept album concerning an unnamed feminine figure's hunt for transfiguration and the "difficult search for true identity and the necessity to confront society's rules," leading to a "a mostly one-sided conversation with God," and its aftermath. In 2020 and 2021, Locust Leaves contributed exclusive unreleased tracks, "Farewell" and "Statue," for the benefit compilations Milim Kashot and Art Against Censorship.

Similar bands in the archives include Hammers of Misfortune, Psychotic Waltz, Panegyrist, Hail Spirit Noir, In the Woods... and Unexpect.
