Probably because you don't understand...

And 2 more things!

1. No song of Symphony X sounds like Under a glass moon...

2.Why this Dream theater thing here, it doesn't matter who sounds more like DT, it has nothing to do with the brilliancy of those 2 bands and furthermore, DT didn't develop something fully new, there are also paralells to other bands, like every band has. So every bands has certain things that sound a bit like another band, thats music...

Just about every chorus Symphony X does in a a fast heavy song sounds like Under a Glass Moon.  When I listen to Of Sins in Shadows and i hear Russell Allen start sings "Desparate Cries!"  i secretly hear James LaBrie going "Outside the Sun...Bathing your soul in Silver Tears!"  So many of Symphony X's intros like Medusa have a similar rythmn to the Under a Glass Moon intro.  If you don't think Symphony X takes a lot of influence from Under a Glass Moon, your haven't heard Under a Glass Moon, or you don't listen to Symphony X.

Dream Theater is being mentioned here because every progressive metal band will always be compared to Dream Theater in every aspect.  When people talk about how technical Spiral Architect is they compare to Dream Theater.  When they talk about how emotional Pain of Salvation is, they compare to Dream Thetaer.  Dream Theater means more to progressive metal now than any other band ever will. DREAM THEATER!

And me thinks that its actually hard to compare DT with PoS or SG when talking bout emotions...

Don't get m,e wrong, DT can be very emotional at times (Through Her Eyes). But The bands I mentioned above are mostly based on emotion!

But Yer right that DT will always be mentioned, cuz they are the most popular and probably most influential band in prog metal. Literally every young prog metal band wants to be like DT

I've listened to under a glass moon and the things you mentioned have other bands used before, like earlier power metal bands, so don't think DT never had copied anything...

I don't hear that at all. No similarity (Of Sins and Shadows / Under a Glass Moon) except that they're both Prog Metal songs.

Dream Theater is the most popular, but not the best prog metal band. It's odd ... only few people here name them as their favorite prog metal band, although the statistics suggest otherwise ...

I really couldn't vote on this one, as I love them both.

If I was forced to chose an album, it would be 'Legacy' which I've always loved to distraction..

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Yes but Shadow GAllery have big epics like  First Light and Ghost Ship to consider

I can't recall that ... as far as I know he said that it will be DARKER.
