Against a number of strong contenders, Abbey Road is my favorite Beatles album. It may not be as innovative as Sgt Peppers but If forces to pick just one Beatles offering, it would be Abbey Road.

Favorite album of all time: Toss up between Yes - Close To The Edge, The Beatles, Abbey Road & TheWho - Who's Next.

David - Never doubt in the dark that which you believe to be true in the light.

I guess if you are going from the dictionary definition of progressive... which we aren't.  If we were doing that I suppose that Red Hot Chili Peppers and Dashboard Confessional would be on here, right?  They progressed their genre, right!?

So, no.  The Lamb is much more progressive than anything the Beatles have ever done.

It will get to the top 50 in less than a year, well deserved. Awesome album.

Well put. That album is nothing short of awesome, as well as Sgt. Peppers.

Finally, It should be up there with Lateralus, The Yes Album and other albums that are in the top 50.

It is the only Beatles album that I could give more than 3 1/2 stars ... instead I give it a perfect 5!!! Incredible album!!!!!!

I take your point Ian but I see The Nice as a "proper" prog band anyway.

So do I, that ,means we have to do something to change their genre.

When "Please Please Me" gets to number one, then you'll all remember my words...

It's not that I don't like the album but... well, I'm sure you guys know the story by now.

Sorry to steal your thunder Legoman, but Abbey Road hit the Top 100 on April 11th, and I still don't think proto-prog albums should be counted towards the overall chart.
