Well, from the names on the list Steve Wilson I guess. But not a big choice...I mean Neil Morse? Dear me no.....

Well, I had to go with Wilson on this one.  Prior to his conversion, I would have gone with Morse.  On the other hand, even without said conversion, I think Wilson is probably the more experimental of the two.

I noticed someone said Stolt, and I thought about him, but since he started with Kaipa in the mid 70's, I figured he might not be "new" enough considering the others mentioned on this poll got their starts in the late 80's at the earliest.

By the way, what's so boring about batsh*t? Confused

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Why did you even bother if you care nothing about it,just so you could troll and call the topic creator's choices pathetic?

I hope to never hear the answer to that question.

They are all masterful at what they do, but Devin Townsend is a genius in the truest definition of the term.
What?

There are quite a few...

when it comes to compositions and singing I must say Akerfeld and Wilson (maybe not so much on the vocals, still a good singer... and an excellent producer)!
when it comes to lyrics I must say Keenan!
then theres also Gildenlow

but If I have to pick ONE... probably Wilson, even if I like some other stuff better, he is the man right now!

I`m not a tool fan in fact I`m not a fan at all but I think their main song writer deserved to be mentioned  because he thinks outside the square and thats a sign of genius in my book. Thumbs%20Up

I agree, Tool's songwriter would probably get my vote...

... but I hate the whole other slot, so I will go with Steven Wilson

C'mon guys, why doesn't anybody love Devin Townsend? In my opinion he has created some of the most original, emotional and interesting music so far this decade.

It's him or Gildenlow, although he disappointed me with Scarsick.
