I would have to say Caravan, then HatN, Camel... I haven't heard any of his solo albums so can't comment on those...

Saw Sinclair with Camel in 1979(?) in Pacific Beach, California and some brave fan called out, "Richard Sinclair," which was instantly answered by some Doug Ferguson-loving fool shouting, "Bug out." Well, this received quite the titter from the audience, but at the time, I felt a little sad for the guy (Sinclair). If only I knew then what I know now about Mr. Sinclair. One of the HUGEST prog players in the history of the genre. I'd do anything to see him live, but he apparently is living the life of Riley in his new home of Italy playing local shows. Mr. Sinclair, please come back to the States. Anyway, I think he'd fallen into his most artistic groove with the work he did with Hatfield.

I love all his periods, but I voted for Caravan, of course.

Couldn't have put it better myself - he also had more opportunity to stretch out as a bassist in Harfield & The North; Waterloo Lily gives the best idea of how Caravan might have sounded if he'd asserted himself a bit more. He's a gem in just about any context though.

I'm not quoted but I think you mean to me. I have voted on your other poll (At least I've seen one). I simply can't choose between those two tracks. I have rated this album 5 stars and it's in my personal top 10, that's why I can't decide. We have a great long song versus a fantastic epic. They are apples and oranges.

No I mean everybody in this poll(and generally). And for which poll are you talking?

I really love his album ''R. S. V. P'':

I don't like the Sinclair's period with Camel. I say Caravan over Hatfield. I don't know his solo works.

I take the opportunity to suggest "Gowen, Miller, Sinclar, Tomkins - Before a Word Is Said".

Love his singing in Hatfield, plus his bass playing in the group is superb.  Easy choice for me.
