Go for it. I think it would be interesting to see different peoples methods of listening to music, although I think there might already be a thread. The one thing I'll always remember from my first Foxtrot listen was the Mellotron in Watcher  Of The Skies. At the time, I had not heard something so epic and powerful, but every time I listen to it now, I don't really get that same feeling. I guess I'm too familiar with it now - it's probably my most played Genesis song ever.

Tough choice. I'll go with Meddle though. Echoes is one of my favorite pieces of music ever.
But I do agree that Foxtrot is more consistent, at least is doesn't have a turkey like San Tropez. LOL

Meddle has one of my all-time favorite songs in Echoes, but Foxtrot is a more consistent recording.  Meddle was Pink Floyd finding the balance between writing great songs and keeping their space-rock influences.  We all know it's follow-up was a massive success.

Foxtrot still
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

Foxtrot by miles.

Meddle is a very fine album.

Foxtrot is the definition of prog.
You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Horizons is a great song if that's what you're implying.

Horizons is a classic, still Hackett plays it on every concert, because it works perfectly as a relief between two strong tracks.

In Foxtrot is a perfect interlude between the frenetic "Can Utility" and the epic "Supper's Ready", it maintains the balance of the album.

Iván

Indeed. I even look at it like a prelude of sorts to Supper's Ready, a piece of it really.

My favorite guitar interlude i can think of - much better than anything Howe played. Thus my username. Wink

Foxtrot! For me it beats any album Pink Floyd ever did.
