Neal Morse solo stuff is better than all the options listed.
But I voted for The Flower Kings.

That Whirl-tour album/DVD was the first thing I got from Transatlantic, and I really loved the Whirlwind set, it's just a perfect piece of music... whether I consider it one song or a set of linked songs (I rather see it this way)... except for the last "song", it sort of feels out of place for me, bland, but besides that one it's a perfect flow of music. There's more things to love from the choices from the other albums, but for me this is the best music Transatlantic has done. |

1. Marillion
2. Spock's Beard 3. Flower Kings 4. Transatlantic - up until Morse had his epiphany 5. Dream Theater - just can't grock James LaBrie |

I'd much rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.

I give you that point for the studio
![]() On stage it really doesn't make a difference if it's a long song (with varied movements, actually) or a sequence of a hundred tracks - the music flows continuously and you enjoy it (or not...) non-stop, what could be better? BTW Mike makes his usual stunts - what a drummer - that are a real treat to watch ![]() |

I bet he is great, but the whole 70 minutes song is just too much...

One of the highpoints of Whirltour was the output of Trevawas, doesn't this lighten your heart ? (And your purse - I'm really thirsty ! ah ah)

Whirlwind did not do much for me, I have 4 Marillion DVDs, I'd watch those over Transatlantic any time.

Interesting poll........based on pevious post s on PA I thought Dream Theater (or FK) would get the most and Marillion the least.. I find the later Marillion lp's after Fish to be smewhat boring except for a track here and there...and Dream Theater has too much of that chug chug prog metal guitar for me.
I went with Spocks Beard....imho their first 5 cd's are all very good.

This is a tough one; I've never listened to Marillion, but I love the rest of these bands.
I guess I'll go with DT. |

I am blown away more with Spock's Beard and Transatlantic though. I don't get much out of D.T.
And me, for some stupid reason, voted for Marillion in some drunken stupor one night when it was meant to be Spock's Beard......
