Prog Metal team just might consider them on the basis of what we already have, but with a full album containg eight more songs theoretically due out at any moment, it seems, I would expect them to prefer to wait for this.

Very well done on that information collection, good Lord! Clap

The EP alone is not enough? 4 or 5 songs that all exhibit quite a bit of proggy math metal should be enough to get them on here. I would just like to see these guys get something out there, so more people can hear how polished and refined their music is.

But, I understand that the lack of material is a problem. Hopefully some info on their debut will come up, somewhere.

Bio (from myspace):

"Afekth is the four-piece band from Poland. The band was created by Maikh in early 2008. In that time the band went through some experiments and changes, then started serious music activity in 2009, when the first EP "The First Two Names" was released and first show took a place. Just straight after, the band took part in gigs with many famous bands from Poland and played their first most important act at before party of Knockout Festival, where bands like Meshuggah, The Dillinger Escape Plan and Cynic were playing also. Since then the band appeared on many famous Polish music sites like for example Interia.pl, got some good reviews about debut EP, was mentioned as an artist of the day on Muzzo.pl and played next series of successful gigs. In 2011 the band played first show abroad (OBOA Festival in Germany) and will be playing at this year's edition of Euroblast Festival, which will take place in Köln, Germany. Afekth is also preparing material for their debut album, which they plan to release soon."

Members

Maikh - guitars, synthesizer, sampler, production Szymur - vocals Heavy - bass Patryk - drums

The band's name comes from psychology and means specific expression of emotions. Describing the music we can mention genres like: experimental/progressive/math metal.

Their two EP's 'The First Two Names' (2009) and  'Ancient Faith' (2011) contain just one track (Maggie/Orpheus - 9:43) and three tracks (Particular Senses - 5:25, My Unreality - 5:13, & Maggie - 4:36) respectively.

Should be enough to give the team something to work with, but until samples of the full album 'Ankh' (supposedly released in 2012) are available: http://afekth.8merch.com/2012_ankh_cd-id747 (but showing only as a pre-order here), there isn't really gonna be enough material to add them. Ermm

Afekth is a Polish group, coming from a region that has been consistently churning out prog metal for quite some time. Utilizing the sound of 'djent,' they sound like a mixture between Meshuggah and Karnivool, splicing together numerous beautiful and harsh singing styles in single songs, intricate instrumental part writing, dynamic shifts in tempo, tone, and rhythm, and a flourish for the unusual.

Here, the lead song from their debut EP:

And another song available for free download on their last.fm page, right here: http://www.last.fm/music/Afekth

I have not seen a Myspace page or any sort of site outside of last.fm, but the radio service is one of my favorite and most reliable resources for finding music and researching it, so I hope that is enough for the band's consideration.
