Tough choice between Signals and Power Windows, I chose Signals in the end.

the best album that symbolized this period its grace under pressure, but under personal circumstances, it's Signals for me.

Really a Signals/Graace tie. The former has the best synths, Gedd's best bass tone, the best drum sound along with Moving Pictures. The latter has great, edgy, aggressive songs that kick you simultaneously on both sides. Signals has been my favorite for many, many years, but what the hell, I'll throw in my vote for P/G.

Power Windows. Kinda tough to get into at first, but it ages really well.

+1
This was one album that gave me a lot of trouble many years ago. I found it rather emotionally detached and completely uninvolving, but, now, it's one of my absolute favorites. It does get better with age and the lyrical themes discussed in Power Windows have as much relevance today as they did in 1985. This album definitely does grow on you with each successive listen. Lifeson has many great moments on this album. His solo in Emotion Detector is a miniature masterpiece within itself. Anyway, great album that does reward the listener over time.

Gave Power Windows some love because it was trailing. All four of these are awesome albums.

Grace felt like a slap in the ears for me at first, but I warned to it pretty quick. At that point I had not heard Signals, so I was kind of expecting another MP. I was still getting my head around how Rush were evolving over time. These days GUP is certainly my favourite of this batch.

I listen to Hold Your Fire most.
So damn consistent and catchy. Beautiful songs throughout. Real classic from the band imo

I always like 3 songs off any Rush album because I tire of their sound---(starts to sound the same)---chose Grace Under Pressure because I sorta listened to it from start to finish a lot.
