Caress was my first Rush album & stilll the one I think fondly of. And you're absolutely right, in the world of D&D prog The Necromancer rules supreme

For me, this is a choice between Journey To The Centre Of The Eye (Nektar), Moving Pictures (Rush), and Leftoverture (Kansas). Of these three albums, I have a clear preference for Journey To The Centre Of The Eye (Nektar).

KC is the most overrated of all. And elitist aren't we?

Was heavily into Kansas and somewhat into Rush back in the eighties. Not much interest in any of these three now, but if I was picking one it'd be Nektar.

Nektar. All three bands have had periods of being corrupted by commercial interests. Only one band made Journey to the Center of the Eye, and that's the one that got my vote. For the record, I don't hold Recycled in the same regard as many other people do, and I don't like Larry Fast's contribution to it, but the debut is just one my all time favorites. (BTW, I don't quite see how Nektar were "heavy", but, hey, no big deal).

Big fan of all three. I've seen all of these bands at least twice each. I actually like Rush the best but voted for all three.

Between these three bands, Rush would be number one even though classic Kansas has many progressive elements I delight in; however, all too often Kansas resorted to Mid West rock cliques I so disdain.   I'm not qualified to rank Nektar.
