I like the whole list - what a great year for prog. So I thought I would give one of the under-dogs a vote:
Pavlov's Dog - Pampered Menial - an awesome album that certainly holds it's own with all the greats on this list!

"Music is the Wine that fills the cup of Silence"
- Robert Fripp

One of my fave years as I got heavily into prog the year before. I have all but one of these on vinyl and still play more than half of them regularly. I voted for Yes tonight but it could have been any one of Crimson, Genesis, Camel or Tangerine Dream on another night.

By now my vote goes to THE LAMB LIES DOWN ON BROADWAY, with honorable mention to Camel (Mirage is not one of my favourite albums, otherwise I certainly would change my vote). Unfortunately I still don't know Hero and Heroine - Strawbs and Hamburger Concerto-Focus, two of the next albums I'm looking forward to listen.

Of those listed, Crime of the Century (absolutely stellar in concert), Apostrophe (one of my favorite Zappa albums), and Red. Also of note, and not listed, the criminally underrated War Child by Tull, diminished only due to the other superb albums the band released previously.

I tend to feel like the only one on this site who's not a fan of Relayer. I'd even go as far as to say it's my least favorite album of there's from the 70's.

I'm not particularly a fan of Relayer either, though I must say that I love Gates of Delirium, and just because of that I put this album rather on the "I like it" side.

Difficult choice since there are a lot of great albums from this year, but I'll choose Camel Mirage.
When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

Of course I am. It's pretty boring though

You must lead an extraordinarily exciting life, then.

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

Ange - Au Dela Du Delire
Robin Trower - Bridge of Sighs
Joni Mitchell - Court and Spark
Grateful Dead - From the Mars Hotel
Hawkwind - Quark Strangeness and Charm
Queen - Queen II
Blue Oyster Cult - Secret Treaties
Quark, Strangeness & Charm is from 1977 !! Hall of the Mountain Grill was the Hawk's '74 album

Oops...thanks for the correction...I had it in my music file as '74.  I always knew Hawkwind was ahead of their time Wink
