Lighthouse - one of prog's best epic moments.
Man-Erg isn't too far behind.
Never really got in to Lemmings.

Every progressive rock fan should be familiar with Van Der Graaf Generator's 1971 masterpiece "Pawn Hearts". Which of the three tracks is your personal favourite?
My personal favourite is Lemmings, which contains some of progressive rock's most haunting lyrical imagery and my favourite vocal performance of all time.

I voted for Lemmings. Its such an amazing song and only had three votes. But as Pawn Hearts is pure prog perfection from beginning to end I can't choose one part over the other two.

I have no idea? I listen to the whole thing to be frank. I love all three cuts. I also purchased a vinyl version, but didn't listen to it in the shop. I ended up with a copy of Pawn Hearts subjected to the kind of insane whitenoise Lou Reed Metal Machine Music. I've only finished it once, but it was out of curiosity, checking to see if something wildly amazing happened, but it didn't. |
But you can exchange it for a better copy, right? Or if unwrapped, no returns?

The chords, the guts, the sounds of things, man. It all just comes together.

1. Plague 2. Man-erg 3. Lemmings
I like how this album gets better after each song. (Which isn't exactly the case on Close to the Edge)
