Discipline quite easily for me. Might be different with Permanent Waves in the opposite goal. But the KC guitar work, Mr Levin and his Chapman Stick and his amazing sense of syncopation and that awesome set of numbers just made the best album in prog rock at least at the time, and possibly for a long time. And I think the world of Rush. I do think The Camera Eye sort of let Moving Pictures down a bit, like it hadn't the played fluency of the other material. All first class stuff really, I nit pick.

Moving Pictures: 5 stars (not too much rounding up required)
Discipline: 3 stars (quite a lot of rounding up required). A no-brainer.

Rush Moving Pictures. |

Moving Pictures was one of my very favourite albums when I was in high school, but I really went off Rush long ago. I still have it on cassette and put it on after I saw this poll, and somehow the music just doesn't connect with who or where I am anymore. It has become sort of a product of a time in my life to me that I feel very distanced from now. Discipline isn't a favourite album of mine (never played it much -- perhaps it need more time and spins -- haven't know it nearly as long as Moving Pictures), but it's still more readily listenable to me than Moving Pictures. I do recognise both to be good albums, though.

Incredibly difficult poll, but MP is so amazing (especially Side 2) in spite of the oft-played "Tom Sawyer," that Rush takes it.

Moving Pictures. Discipline is too weak to beat any Rush.

Definitely unquestionably Discipline, which I coincidentally just finished listening to before seeing this.

Difficult Poll. Now both of them have 13 votes and its make this poll harder for me. I choose Discipline but I really Love Moving Pictures deeply.

Discipline of course. The fact is.. no matter how closely I study it, no matter how I take it apart, no matter how I break it down, It remains consistent.
