Suggestions for albums with good sound quality

Threshold's latest album has exceptional sound quality. All you could possibly want from a melodic 'doom metal'.

Not exactly prog, but adventurous none-the-less, This Mortal Coil's "Filigree & Shadow" was probably the first vinyl I bought back in my teens in which it's production values played a major role in my enjoyment...so much in fact that I only listened to it in the dark with monster speakers while the folks were out. One of those special "once a month events". The sound is just so crystalline & spacious. I still haven't listened to it on CD actually (I assume it's still righteous).

Just picked up a MFSL vinyl pressing of Crime of the Century today. That album has dynamics to die for. Can't wait to compare it to the CD.

Nowhere near prog, but Van Morrison's Moondance, the recent Warner reissue is the best audio experience ever.  

Definitely not my favourite Tangerine Dream offering from the 70s, but Stratosfear and the way it's produced seems like a brilliant little record to put on, if you're looking for a litmus test of your rack. Play it loud. 

 Anthony Phillips' remastered Geese and the Ghost is one of the best sounding CD's I have. Spacious, crystal clear, gorgeous!

Yes and with the album Brave. Absolutely stunning but get used to the dense sound before you turn it up. I warned you.

Put on the Japanese import CD (or if you can find it, an original first-isssue vinyl pressing) of Chris Squire's Fish Out of Water. Life changing.
