Topic: Diablo II Patch 1.11 Posted: July 30 2005 at 08:28 |
Blizzard surprisingly announced a new patch (1.11) for Diablo II, their classic game. the servers will be down on monday, Aug 1st, for a few hours; perhaps for uploading the patch? it looks as if there will be a new super unique monster named "Lilith" (which looks like Andariel). as usual Blizzard did not give any details in advance, but for all fans of the game (Friede and I both are; she prefers the sorceress, I the amazon, but we have both played all 7 characters) this is certainly good news.

Bravo, Blizzard...how many other companies stick with a title four years after its release?
(I'm not holding my breath for a "Rock and Roll Racing" update, though )
Are you both (or individually) WoW players as well? I've heard great
things, but I'm afraid to get sucked into another MMORPG after losing
so many hours (days, weeks?) to the Horizons beta.

no, we only own Diablo 2 and the expansion set "Lord of Destruction". we will perhaps buy WoW though as soon as we get our new computer (which should be soon)

God, WOW has been my primary pastime for about 3 months now (excepting the 6 weeks I was without a PC---oh the torture!!). It's a great game, and I am currently playing several different characters covering most of the classes. The thing is, I'm not a huge RPG fan, but this game has completely sucked me in, and even cured me of my two-year Call Of Duty addiction.

"Lord of Destruction", the expansion of "Diablo 2", is very interesting too, with the 4 male (barbarian, necromancer, paladin and druid) and the 3 female (assassin, amazon and sorceress) characters, who all play completely different. the last patch (1.10) brought a lot of changes to the game; it almost became a completely new game. we are really looking forward to the new patch.
for all who don't know the game, here the characters. left to right: amazon, assassin, necromancer, barbarian, paladin, sorceress and druid

The "Age of Empires" series. AoE 3 is set for release at the end of this year. It looks absolutely fantastic!

I'm so relieved I'm not the only game geek 'round these parts. Seriously, I think I might need help. I play about 6-8 hours a day if I'm not working or otherwise occupied.

there will definitely be a new super unique monster, but it seems only on the battle-net realms. her name is Lilith, and she looks like Andariel. something seems to have to happen before she appears; what exactly this is is unknown yet.
this is a screenshot of a fight against Lilith. she seems to be able to summon succubus-like creatures like the blue one on the right

BLIZZARD are the kings of computer games no doubt. WC1-3, Diablo1-2, SC, WoW, i have played em all and loved em all, fantastic.
I also have a GameCube to my TV, and Metroid Prime1-2, WindWaker and Resident evil 4 rules. The only thing that can brake my WoW Crazynes is gona be the new Zelda game that gona be great.
My game History begun when my dad bought me a Snes or Super Nintendo when i was like 8 i think, I have loved TV and Computer games ever since.
