I am impressed, seeing that you are only 14 years old (if your profile
is right). I didn't even know who Camel was when I was 14. Heck,
I hardly even knew what prog was.

Mmmm, I love all of Camel, but from their classic period Snow Goose is the album I less like, I find it sort of uninspired and boring at some times. But still it has some great moments like Pricesse Perdue; If you ask me their best albums are Camel and Moonmadness (this last one particulary for getting high).

Oh yeah! "MoonMadness" (around 1975) was my first introduction to Camel. I love their music! I have many of their LPs, and "Echoes", their CD best of compilation.
As I stated in another thread, I was saddened to read of the loss of Pete Bardens (their keyboardist) to cancer. i He was really good!! I have 2 of his solo albums.

I knew them first through Mirage, the very first album I played more than two times just after I bought it, it was very important for me beginning to like prog!
I also can recommend their very first album! I can see your house from here , is overrated in my ears. but mainly I like anything from the very beginning to Nude.

i just discovered camel recently, and they quickly became one of my
favourite bands. mirage, the snow goose and moonmadness are awesome
albums, and coming of age is one of the best live albums i own.

I was listening to The Snow Goose as I saw this thread.
In my view, the best band ever, bar none. Been a fan for 30 years. No other band can match the sheer brilliance of the Mirage to Moonmadness period. (Genesis do have a good try from Nursery Cryme to Selling England).
Their later albums are excellent too (really just Latimer), as is Nude.
I will review my opinion of 14 year olds and Aussies!!!
BTW yes I like yes - lost any ashes recently??? Don't worry, we've got em safe in England.

Camel is probably my favorite band. I think The Snowgoose is probably the best, all instrumenal concept album by any band. Without a doubt their best and most inspired. I especially felt this after I read the novella (but more like a short story). After you read that, you really hear how inspired they were.
Camel is also the band that is most accessible for newcomers to prog I find as well. Best of both worlds more or less. What's really amazing is all their albums, save I Can See..., are high above par and some are near perfect.
yeah, camel's great

Yeah, Camel are great!!
Their apex: Moonmadness (1976) and Music Inspired by the Snow Goose (1975), both masterpieces!!
