Sorskogen is Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth) and Dan Swano's (Edge of Sanity,
Nightingale, Dan Swano, etc etc..) little side project. They were very
short lived and purposely recorded one track for fan's of Damnation and
prog music in general.
This track is awesome even Mikael admits to "borrowing" heavily from his influences on it and it is quite apparent (but then again it is apparent that Mikael adds his own originality to his "borrowings"). It has Mikael's signature soft vocals (IN SWEDISH), with his heartfelt guitar playing and solos and Swano adds amazing contributions on the moog, keys, drums and bass. LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY to the CHORUS, and tell me if you catch something familiar ! >>>>>Sorskogen - Mordet i Grottan MP3 <<<<<< * The track title translates into "Murder in the Cave" FULL LYRIC TRANSLATION HERE |

Oh and if it does not work again just head to Wikipedia.org and search
for Sorskogen....and most likely you will get the band with an MP3
provided and not the Swedish town.

This song also reminded me of a post earlier by a disgruntled fan over
Ghost Reveries. He said that all Mikael is guilty of borrowing from
himself, which is actually true on this track...if you guys did not
already notice the similarity to a certain Opeth track.
