As a keen Nazareth fan since the release of "Razamanaz" (never really keen on "Nazareth" or "Exercises") i can highly recommend their 70's albums, particularly the Roger Glover produced "Razamanaz", "Loud and Proud" and "Rampant", a heavy mix of rock and blues, and hit singles "This Flight Tonight" and "Broken Down Angel". "Hair of the Dog" is great heavy rock album, the title track was a long time live stage favourite. "Playin the Game" and "Close Enough for Rock'n'Roll" followed, then "Expect No Mercy" and "No Mean City" was an out and out heavy rock album. They continued to make great albums, including an excellent live double album "Snaz", right up to 1998 with "Boogaloo". After the sad death of drummer Darrell Sweet the group later continued to
tour with Lee Agnew, Pete Agnew's son, occupying the drum seat. Nazareth, from Scotland, were particularly popular in Canada, all their albums are available as remasters on cd.
During the 80's and 90's they made "Malice in Wonderland", a real departure from their original style with the addition of Zal Cleminson but still one of my favourite Nazareth albums, followed by "The Fool Circle" in 1981, something of a return to form but their following albums "2XS", "The Catch", "Cinema", "Snakes and Ladders", "No Jive" and "Move Me" contain a mixture of styles. The import only album "Sound Elixir" was the only real disappointment out of all these.
