Topic: If Mike Patton could be the singer of... Posted: March 11 2007 at 19:22 |
Im a Mike Patton fan and was wondering if you could choose a prog band for him to sing in, what would it be? I know he's too busy with all his projects, hehe but just for kicks. What band might he fit in pretty good? I'll say Rush just because he has a great range (God bless Geddy Lee).

I would pick something really mellow, like if Pink Floyd were still in existence. Or Sigur Ros
Just to see what happens.

It'd take a little bit of necromancy, but Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention

The Cardiacs! I think pattons manic personality and vocal style would suit this band perfectly.

That's like gelatin + hot sauce! Although I wouldn't mind a hearing collaboration with Dose One. For me: Hella.

He'd be good with Frank Zappa, and Captain Beefheart.
He's already worked with John Zorn many times, and Dillinger Escape Plan.
He could fake bulgarian and work with Buldozer. He would probably be pretty great with Mats & Morgan.

If Gildenlow ever lost his voice but could keep on playing, Patton would be the only one capable of replacing him.

I'm sure Disco Queen would be awesome if sang by Mike Patton.

Replace LaBrie.
OK, just kidding. Or am I?
If he could play drums, I'd say replace Portnoy.

Anal c**t: no kidding, they are a fun crazy band and after the aural holocaust that Fantomas and Patton's solo albums were, I think he would fit perfectly in AxCx
Sleepytime Gorilla Museum: they're a lot like Mr Bungle.
He could sing anywhere really.

It would have to be a prog-metal outfit, such as Dream Theater methinks.
