 Topic: Which RPI next?

Over the last 18 onths or so, I have become totally hooked on all these great Italian prog gems that I never knew existed! (I live in the USA). Italian is such a beautiful language and fits the music perfectly! I can't get enough!. Below is what I have right now. As you can see I have most, if not all, of the required listening, and I am ready to dig deeper. Where should I go next? Suggestions Please!

Delirium maybe. On the first album there are some beautiful vocals.
More recent are La Maschera di Cera - Luxade. great album.
Some Nuova Era?

Thanks! I'll check out Delirium. As for the others I'm going to stick the 70's for the time being. I should have mentioned that.

Indeed, get all of La Maschera di Cera. You can also add Finisterre, for that matter, and other 70's gems, like RDM's "Contaminazione", Jumbo's "Vietato ai minori..." and Campo di Marte's self titled.

You already have quite a few 70's albums, Metamorfosi and the very mellow Celeste are very good, you might give them a try. RDM's Contaminazione is also a very good album. If you like 70's italian a lot i'd certainly not ignore modern italian symph though,I agree with Glasshouse and Kotro about La Maschera di cera, Finisterre and Nuova era.

^ OOPS! .... I have Metamorfosi.... don't know how I missed that one  LOL. I have added it to the list. As far as the newer music goes, I don't intend to ignore it, I'm just concentrating on the 70's right now. Gotta set priorities!

You could go for less convention RPI like Goblin or Picchio dal Pozzo.

Walker.... check out some Battiato. Especially the first 4.. and after that.... if you are intriqued by him as an artist as I was.... you have 30 years of material to go through.. from the hard to listen to experimental to the easy to listen to and pleasing on the ear 80's stuff. Great artist.
also a 'traditional' RPI artist you might like.. that Hugues and I love... Jumbo. I haven't reviewed them yet... but they put out some great albums.

Oh and don't forget Stormy Six. Even though they're classed as RIO/Avant-Prog, they're extremely accessible. Check them out!
L'Apprendista is a wonderful album.

You should go for Delirium III. The best of their three releases. Riccardo Zappa's Celestion. Raccomandata Ricevuta di Ritorno. Arti + Mestieri.
Then you would like also some contemporary stuff. La Maschera di Cera as other pointed out. Just to start.

First of all, I recommend you to complete your set by Le Orme with "Florian". First-rate classical acoustical stuff.
If you want to listen to a different side of RPI try also "Fragments of Light" by Sensations' Fix.
Anyway, do not miss "Celestion" by Riccardo Zappa.

Many proggers frequently miss Italian singers' progressive stuff. 
Then I recommend these interesting albums.
*Riccardo Cocciante / Mu (great masterpiece!)
*Alan Sorrenti / Aria (great masterpiece!)
*Tito Schipa Jr. / Io Ed Io Solo (great masterpiece!)
*Tito Schipa Jr. / Concerto Per Un Primo Amore (another fine album)
*Ciro D'ammicco / S.T. (seldom spoken in PA thread?!)
*Caterina Caselli / Primavera (I Pooh type)
*Claudio Baglioni / Un Cantastorie Dei Giorni Nostri (popular music singer, but this is a progressive album in my opinion)
*Mauro Pelosi / La Stagione Per Morire (Leo Nero plays in this album. dark songs)
*Mauro Pelosi / Al Mercato Degli Uomini Piccoli (Peter Hammill's album Over is close to this sence. great masterpiece)
Also need to check ! *I Pooh / Parsifal
*I Pooh / Un Po'Del Nostro Tempo Migliore

@ Honganij: some of the albums you mentioned are genuinely progressive, and you will find they have often been discussed in the All Prog for Italy Appreciation thread (in the Prog Lounge). I also think two other albums by famous Italian singer-songwriters should be mentioned here: "Theorius Campus" by Antonello Venditti and Francesco De Gregori, and "Amore e non amore" by Lucio Battisti.
As to the others, I have to admit I have my doubts. Being Italian and born in 1960, I know all those singers and groups, and I find their relation to prog is quite flimsy. In my humble opinion, the influence of the Italian melodic pop tradition is far too strong, and overwhelms the prog component. I would make an exception, though, for I Nomadi and Equipe 84, who were undoubtedly superior both from a musical and a lyrical point of view.
There are lots of lesser-known, fully prog RPI acts to explore - as a confirmed hater of Italian melodic pop, I think many people could be seriously put off by the poppy, slushy sound of many of those acts. It is true that in the early Seventies prog influenced most of the Italian music scene, but we should never forget that the melodic tradition was, and still is, much stronger and durable.
