My Brand New Interview c Dave Cousins - The Strawbs! The interview - completed by phone yesterday early evening - is appx.
45 minutes in length and we cover subjects from the current electric tour, to David's meeting his banjo idol Earl Scruggs, to his home by the sea and his relationship with his wonderful companion animals, to the meanings behind some of the lyrics and symbolism on his first solo CD since the 1970s - 2007's 'The Boy in the Sailor Suit', to his days as a radio station manager, and much, much more. David was an absolute joy to talk with and we got along famously to I will prepare our interview for webcast ASAP. Check for the premier date and time(s) on my schedule page below. Best to all,

I hope you found out why every single Strawbs album has had a CD release EXCEPT ONE!!!! That album is "Nomadness", and it's a good one, with some great tracks on it.

there was an interview yesterday on the radio station of Massachusetts Institute of Technology in which Cousins said that the only albums not currently available by legit release are Strawbs, Dragonfly, and Nomadness, and they are all coming out soon! I agree than Nomadness had some great stuff, but they made miscalculation by not only putting the mellotron away when they made it, but also not including an epic a la Autumn, Ghosts or Life Auction. We had to settle for a few aawesome shorter songs especially on side 2 - So Shall Our Love Die, Mind of My Own, and Hanging in the gallery . |

Nomadness is an incredibly underrated CLASSIC, mellotron or not!!!!!
I cannot understand why songs like " So Shall Our Love Die", " The Promised Land", " ...Hanging In the Gallery" and " Golden Salamander" are not considered as classic as Ghost/Hero and Heroine era music.......

Thanks again for your interest in my interviews however have you ever sat down and transcribed a 50 minute interview? That takes a lot of time! I only plan to transcribe interviews that will be published in major music zines or newspapers...like possibly my new one with Alan White (please see my new post). Best, :)Steve S-N |
