ha ha Panopticon came AFTER Oceanic. you meant Celestial which is very very good by the way
From the list id have to say pain of salvation. Entropia is incredible, particularly for a debut.

Meh, it's alright. I would take any of the following 3 albums over it any day, but it is quite a groundbreaking album.

I don't know nearly enough to vote. I do like S.U.S.A.R. considerably, and the other one I'd be most interested in is Maudlin of the Well's debut (I do like the follow-up considerably, and like Kayo Dot muchly -- now if you had Kayo Dot's debut (love it), but perhaps that would dominate the poll overmuch).

I never considered Kayo Dot a metal band (I would have voted for Choirs of the Eye as well), though I guess you could make a case for the debut. Fixed the Isis option.

This is a very good list! It has to be Riverside for me, what a great band! Following that, I'd go with Entropia from POS because that album was also really surprising to me. It's difficult to compare DT's first album to the other debuts because since they dropped Dominici for Images and words it's kinda like their debut with LaBrie (If that made sense in any way and counted I still would've picked Riverside).

are you talking the PoS album or the Celestial? either way i agree, the next three albums by both bands are much better, though in PoS's case i think its a closer call saying that with One Hour By the Concrete lake being slightly underwhelming.

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Sorry, I was talking about Isis. I prefer Entropia over One Hour by the Concrete Lake by a small margin.

I don't have all, so I won't vote, although I don't think that any of these could dethrone the mighty A Social Grace.
