I've gradually lost some interest in most of these bands. They all get some time now and then. I loved Transatlantic and SB a while back and have only heard The Sum of All Evil by TFK. Beardfish had some good material, but never really grew on me.
The Tangent still stands strong though. Not As Good As The Book didn't disappoint me the slightest after the high expectations that A Place In the Queue left me with.
Guess that's the winner then.

Transatalntic, both of their albums are better than any of SB's or TFK's and The Tangent can only match them on occaison.
Must mention Wobbler too, Hinterland is an excellent album.

Four superb bands!
The Flower Kings wins here for me. Second would be Transatlantic even though they only released two albums. Spock's Beard would be third even though 2 of their three last albums have been weaker than necessary (Octane being the exception). The Tangent's last album is the best of 2008 and the other two I have from them are very good.
Basically, of these 4 bands, I own every studio album except for one of The Tangent. That tells I somewhat like them...

I have some special love to Transatlantic's "Bridge Across Forever" 'cause It was one of my very first prog discovers. And I still love that album, It amazed me that they had song that lasted 30 mins, it was sick for me in that time...
Now it' very normal to me

I voted the Flower Kings, which is probably my favorite current band at the moment, although I really like both Transatlantic albums as well as the Tangent albums, as for SB I never really cared for them all that much, Neal-era SB reminded too often of Yes, Genesis, GG and probably every other 70s progband. I rarely (if ever) have that feeling with the other bands mentioned
