First of all I was really surprised that I couldn't find this band here. I listen them for some time, and in spite of the minimalism of their music there is something progressive. This characteristic sound of saxophone... but well, you have to hear it, I would reccomend it for Prog Related, or maybe Crossover (??), check these:

A splendid band (check out the Mark Sandman collection Sandbox as well, which contains material from earlier bands like Treat Her Right) but I don't think there's much of a prog connection - their 'low rock' was more a jazz flavoured twist on grunge.

They're a wonderful band.
I believe it's arguable whether or not they're prog, but I also believe it's arguable whether or not Diablo Swing Orchestra is prog, and they're in this site's top 40 right now. |

The Crossover Team looked at this back in November 2008 - and our feelings were that they were not suited for Crossover and weren't that comfortable with Prog Related either so did not propose them to the PR team either. A great band though.
Sorry for not reporting our findings back to this thread earlier, we got caught up in other things and forgot.

Awesome band, one of my favorites of the 90's. Innovative and creative, yes, prog no.
Cool as the saddest cat on a blue midnight wailing away....you know it.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Great band, but definitely not Prog.
A unique sort-of Alt. Rock/Indie band: wah-wah sax, no guitar, lots of bass. |
