You are if you regard of the Bible as "empirical evidence". This would be a tangent for all the other discussions we already had ... if you like you can think of yourself as simply smarter than those who are merely rational.Smile

The way this poll is set up, I think I'm somewhere between the bottom two options.  I'd have to choose the final option because I wouldn't say I embrace "mysticism" - and to be honest I don't think of myself as very spiritual either.  That said, I consider many things in my life (primarily my wife and kids) to be a blessing - whether one considers that from "God" or whatever, I don't know, but I feel very fortunate.

You don't need wenches and beer when you have villages to rape, pillage and steal mead from.

This could be option 1  if you were a fundementalist Norse Pagan?

Maybe, Vikings don't condone violence though. That village was simply asking for it.

What kind of religion doesn't allow for wenches?  You can call your wife a wench if you like!  (Better than harpy me thinks).

^^ ok, so I should have made it "most, if not all".

Would you call your religion a separate sect of Christianity then? If you plan to start preaching it or define special practices, maybe choice #2 would be better suited.

Well, in terms of metaphysics (not matters of soteriology), I find I am closest to Christadelphian teachings (no Trinity, no personal Satan, no immortal, immaterial soul, no eternal hell), but in terms of most other doctrines, I find I am closest to Southern Baptists (with a mostly Calvinist slant, if labels must be applied).

Of course, as I mentioned, I am a materialist, which is why Christadelphianism comes closest to my understanding of the world, but when it comes to matters of salvation, Southern Baptists (mostly) get it right (from my experience).
Words.  Too many words.  That I don't understand.  Confused

Come over to my religion Robert.  All you need to know is beer and wenches (or is that wrenches? Ermm) for all.  No other words necessary.

But biblical Christianity allows for beer and wrenches.  Big smile

No wenches though.

Just a harpy we call a "wife."  Disapprove

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?
