Guys... RHCP is a very "unique" band, maybe not the subject matter for most of the earlier songs but every thing else they've done should be considered

Strong argument there.
I'll retort by saying: Unique, yes. But please give ONE example that should show the band as progressive. I own all their albums and would not consider any of them progressive. Let's remember here people "good music =/= prog" |

Sir Psycho Sexy. Anyways, they are pretty progressive sometimes, and I believe that a spot on Prog Related wouldn't be harsh, right? Yes for me.

A title is not an explanation as to HOW they are progressive. Plus, one song won't cut it. Helloween has multiple 15 minute plus epics and concept albums that run over decades - they're not here. |

I never understood the fascination with RHCP at all. They have some good songs, but to me they're incredibly forgettable and nothing new.

I don't listen to them frequently, but I really enjoy their funk sensibilities specially on One Hot Minute.
However, Prog Related? Absolutely no. John Frusciante solo? Maybe.

No.
I love them, I have all their studio albums, but having them in P.A. makes no sense at all. |

With 16 no votes compared to just one yes vote, it appears that the obvious choice was indeed obvious (to the vast majority).

I have never considered RHCP doing anything that ambitious... Nor do I really like them, besides Frusciantes work with The Mars Volta, I dont like anything any of them have done.
