LOTR, because, like the books, it is really a single story and was filmed as a continuous work. Most trilogies have a successful start and then the 2nd two are added...to mixed effect.

I know I'm old, but what about Back to the Future?

As The Godfather III was so weak (though the first two were masterpieces), I'll have to go with the Ring trilogy -- an amazing, consistently excellent cinematic achievement, in my book.  Thumbs Up

There's something about film trilogies that there is usually one in the series that just isn't as good as the others. LOL
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

^ They're good, but I prefer the newer trilogy ... especially Once Upon a Time in America, it beautifully combines Mafia and Western.

Mike, you have to check out White.  It is the most fun of bunch, injecting a bit more humor. Red is more mysterious and about an odd relationship.

Mad Max, Back To The Future, Lord Of The Rings and Die Hard are all excellent movies but they're nothing compared to the glory of the original Star Wars trilogy Big smile

This is a pretty solid option.
The Godfather trilogy is 2/3 brilliant but I'm feeling a pull towards comedy right now, and seeing as how there are FOUR Vacation movies, I think I'll go with:
the Naked Gun trilogy

Very cool Josh.  Any 15 yo into the Decalogue is thumbs up in my book.  Took me twice that long to find it.  Just make sure to watch them in that order, B/W/R.  While not critical, there are little things he throws in that rely on the order.

I haven't seen those yet, but I see they have a lot of high marks.  I really enjoyed Kieslowski's Decalogue, so I'd probably like the Three Colours as well.  (Yes, I am a 15-year-old who watches foreign art films.Geek)
