Anyone into any of their other projects?  I have the first two by A Silver Mt. Zion (the second is better) and one by le Fly Pan Am (not that great).

Huge fan of 13 blues for thirteen moons from Mt. Zion, and the latest is alright... But some of their older stuff sounds very much like a direct extension of GY!BE (though I do listen to it when I'm on a GY!BE binge, its not the same quality imo)

I have heard of a project called Set Fire to Flames, but I've never listened to them.  I'm pretty sure they're an offshoot of GY!BE.  No idea whether they sound like Godspeed, though.

Set Fire to Flames is great if you have the chance to listen to it someday i suggest you: Mouth Trapped In Static and if you want to go deeper in the GY!BE side projects there is HRSTA and also Esmerine (just to name these two)

For your information none of these bands actually sound like Godspeed...it's like the band had magical powers and it was all split up in all of the side projects when they split up,,,so there's a bit of the power in every of them...but when you bring all those toghether...you get..well...there's no word for it...you get GY!BEBig smile

Not too long ago I picked up a disc by Black Ox Orkestar.  Very different, all based on Jewish folk music and sung in Yiddish.

f#a#(Infinity) is one of my single favorite albums of all time. I did an essay/discussion on "The Dead Flag Blues" when my English class was asked to do a report on a North American poem.

I really like the band and that album, I guess is where I'm going with this.

I hadn't heard they were coming back together until recently, does anybody know if it will be just live performances or if they will be releasing an album as well?

GY!BE, especially Menuck, are very anti-media so they simply don't tell anything untill they do it so there's no confusion, you'll know that they're gonna release a studio album when the studio album will be recordedBig smile

The 33 cassettes were all given to family of the members and the members themselves and they were told to not release it and keep it...the only one that we're certain they have one is Constellation Records but people already tried to put some pressure to have the right to listen to it...but sadly Cryno results...but don't think this very first album will actually sound like Godspeed because there were only 3 members: Moya, Menuck and Pezzente.

Rofl, I'm sure constellation record is ran by 3-4 hippies. If we do so, we'll manifest in front of a tent.
