Topic: From Genesis to Revelation Posted: September 04 2010 at 10:19 |
Different than the future stuff, FGTR was the first Genesis step. Can you find some trace of what did become later?

Well, in the bridging part between "The Fireside Song" and "The Serpent" you can find a snippet of "Twilight Alehouse".

There are traces in every song. I got into Genesis after And Then There Were Three. In fairly short order I had listened to the entire back catalog. Genesis to Revelation was understandably primitive due to the ages of the musicians, but primitive doesn't equal bad. Rather impressive actually considering how young they were.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Finding traces of what would become Genesis on this album is a difficult task. It seems like telling from an echo how an embryo will look as an adult. It's all so immature. But Anthony's remark makes some sense.

Unfortunately, this album is one of the weakest Genesis releases and their over-step. I used to start counting a story of them since Trespass only.

In the wilderness is the best track of this album. There I can find some traces of the next Genesis, specially in the way in which Peter sings. There he shows this kind of agressiveness.

I'll go with "In The Beginning", although "The Serpent" is a strong contender as well.
