I've picked up all 10 studio albums from this period and while you may not find a true absolute classic album amongst the 10, every album is pretty good and some very good. I really enjoy the 1980-83 the most as it sounds like Eloy completely found their own style. Although the 1973-79 period had the occasional floyd or tull influence, they were still a cool band with many good songs with quality compositions and musicianship. Most of the albums from this 1973-83 period had 2, 3 or 4 very good tunes with the occasional classic track. I now rate Eloy as my fave early 80s band up there with Rush. Many quality songs over 11 years put them ahead of bands such as Crimson, Yes and Genesis imo. Bornemann was a very good composer and guitarist. A definate Big 10 prog band. I'd have them in my Big 5 now. Here are some of my fave Eloy songs

Hi,
I have almost all the early stuff and have always enjoyed it. Ther sister band "Jane" was a bit more rock oriented, but they shared the keyboard player more than once ... and it is also very nice.

I love seventies Eloy, especially the first two, Eloy and Inside, featuring a really cool bass player named Wolfgang Stocker I also love The Power and The Passion and Ocean. Later than that i have not heard, though

Woah, just listened to these songs, first time experiencing them. I really really like them. Is it just me or does the lead singer sound a lot like Ian Anderson?
...and just the rhythmic style of singing reminds me of Carl Palmer.

I believe this band are very underestimated, but are easily one of my top 5. Quite extrordinary band, with amazing albums. My top albums are all from this period. Colours is a classic in my mind, but not viewed that way by PA.
Just discovered them thanks to Spotify! I LOVE Ocean, don't know who the bass player was on this one, but he's good. Looking forward to listening to the rest of their albums.
