Not at all, Ian. You're a Labour supporter like myself, so all is good. I may though move to Scotland.

Yes, that mantra is so f**king tiresome now. If I hear the phrase :this mess we've inherited from Labour" spring from Tory or Lib Dem lips once more I think I might actually kill something. Danny Alexander was trotting it out repeatedly on the World at One today and it took me ages to realise it wasn't a Tory speaking! Well, I'm hardly surprised by the result, but I'm still f**king furious about it. My generation's chance of a fairer electoral system has been well and truly scuppered by the smug old political dinosaurs and their media pals who conducted a disgraceful campaign just to save their own sorry skins. Whilst brave people in Libya, Syria and elsewhere are risking incarceration, torture and death for basic democratic rights we can't even embrace the first opportunity in centuries to reform our broken political system and give the powers that be the shake-up they so sorely need. What an abysmal day for democracy in this country.

It also didn't help that the backstabbing idiot Clegg was fronting the Yes Campaign. I didn't vote yes because of him; I voted Yes because it a better system than FPTP.
I'm now a wee bit concerned about Ed Miliband's future though.

SOrry Snowy, I hope you didn't feel I was hostile. I only feel angry about the way the vote and campaign was conducted not about the result or about anyone who voted one way or the other.

If that is the case I am sorry about that. It wasn't my intention.

It's okay - I should be use to it by now and really shouldn't use analogies at all on the PA as they rarely clarify anything. People get bogged down with the analogy and any value is lost (ex: Proust vs. Dan Brown)

I'm angry at the accusation, as a no voter, that I don't understand the principal. I am also dismayed at the the anger of the yes voters here at the result. Had it gone the other way i would have been fine with it.

You are seeing things that are not there Ian. As some have said already, we are not angry at the result - the result was predictable from day one, we are also not angry at those who voted No, even those who blatantly didn't understand what was being offered - and that was not you as you clearly stated you were voting No because you were happy with the current system and you don't like change - that's fine by me. We are of course disappointed by the result because this was the one chance we had in our lifetime to change a system that favours a two-party electorate, and this country is far from being a two party electorate.
Anger? No, I have none.
Sure I'm not fine with the result because I wasn't fine with the current FPTP system before the vote.

I don't see how the extra quotes change my point, I read them the first time and thought them not relevant. But can we stop this now? Or do you want the last word?

Knew it.
I didn't mean anything spiteful by that comment. But do you have anything to add?

I was annoyed precisely for that reason Dean quoted. I didn't like the fact the No Campaign was terrible and telling blatant lies.
I knew it'd be a No vote. However, I was hoping it'd be closer. Not so much of a comprehensive victory for the No voters.

It's not my fight - I don't like quotes out of context, especially when the following quotes do clarify the point for me at least. At the time I thought the "last word" jibe was below the belt, but if you say it's not, then it's not.

I don't think they were out of context. The context doesn't change the anger in any way.
I wish I hadn't typed "do you want the last word" now though. The last thing I want to do is annoy or upset you.
