On an impulse I've decided to get "Absence" by Dalek and it's bloody fantastic so far! A demented noisy piece of work! Am very excited to hear more.

Not prog but certainly experimental/eclectic, check out these bands :
clouddead's self-titled album
Beastie Boys's 'Paul's boutique', 'check your head', 'ill communication'
P.O.S.'s 'never better'
Rob Swift's 'the architect' (released on Mike Patton's label)

Being rather bored, somehow the idea came to me to start looking for progressive/experimental hip-hop. I never really was turned off by the idea of hip-hop, but I was very turned off by the popular rappers on the radio, and so never really explored hip-hop until now. So far I found a few artists the most notable being Shabbazz Palaces- who's beats are so strange that I really can enjoy it. Another discovery I made is a rapper called Danny Brown- who's lyrics I really need to get used to (to say the least they're obscene) but the beats are really freaky.
I'd like to know if anyone here on PA is actually interested in weird hip-hop and can help me check out other artists? If not I still suggest trying it out so far it's been very interesting.
