Was the song released as a Greg Lake solo? I know that it was on ELP's Works Volume II.

Oh yes. Released with the B side of Humbug back in about '75 I believe. Got to number 2 in the Uk charts. The version on Works is different. Not as good. The EP version is the same...or ar both versions on there?

Not sure if anyone mentioned it but how about Jethro Tull?
![]() Not sure of just how proggy it is but Steve Vai and Alex Lifeson play on Merry Axemas - A Guitar Christmas http://www.amazon.com/Merry-Axemas-Various-Artists/dp/B000002BP3 Edited by rushaholic - December 12 2011 at 11:15 |

Neal Morse's Christmas album is really sweet. He does a lot of amazing keyboard stuff on it. And the track Shred Ride is so fast it's mindblowing. It's most instrumental with a few sung tracks. TSO are cool too!!!

Awesome collection here and already got Jethro Tull and ELP Christmas albums.
Will get hold of some of that stuff from Anderson and Squire soon. I wish there was a prog Christmas Compilation though. In the meantime enjoy my favourite carols here.... ah I love Christmas. I will be playing these in church on guitar this Christmas. |

You should check out Sadist's Season in Silence. It's Christmas/ winter themed technical death metal.

These are mostly pretty traditional-sounding but at least they are all technically by prog bands: |
