I suppose I should put this little bit of information to settle the thread.
This was posted by Sid Smith on the forums of DGM. Sid Smith is the one who posts the news on the website and is the King Crimson archivist. He posted this today: There are no plans for King Crimson to play anywhere at the moment any time soon.
Best wishes Sid |

This is description of Fripp's night dreams. This kind of stuff is not very rare in his diaries.

Hm... I was getting excited. Not until news of a new album or tour dates will I get excited again about it.

Considering this interview (posted to PA on another thread), I'd find it hard to believe that Robert would pick up the King Crimson lance & shield yet again!
He sounds quite beat with the business B.S. involved in being a musician.

Another King Crimson reformation? I'll believe it when I see it.

It was clearly a dream (nightmare), Fripp is often a stream of consciousness poster.

If we get another incarnation it had better be really really good. The last few have left me rather flat. Maybe an old incarnation and reform has a double meaning....

He needs some fresher musical voices in the band. He needs to go back being the sole guitarist this time around. I have nothing against Belew, I would just like to hear Fripp spread his wings a little bit more in the new incarnation. I would say getting some different instruments would also be a good thing like woodwind player who plays all the instruments in that family, a trumpeter would be an interesting addition as well. KC also needs a percussionist who plays all percussion instruments. Fripp just needs to mix it up more this next time around.

Bob could get a TV show. Meditate on that a while.

Read the sentences well, it's clear that what he was saying is that he still has nightmares about the subject of reforming KC (November and December together do not add up to 70 gigs even playing everyday including Christmas as he "wondered"), and so he was glad that he awoke at 06h00 stopping the nightmare.
Just some more of his irony, not gonna happen. Edited by Gerinski - August 14 2012 at 11:28 |
