Topic: Rush 3rd Era Posted: April 22 2013 at 13:22 |
Another hard one, my faves from this era are Signals and Power Windows.
If I have to vote, I'll go with Signals !

Power Windows. Kinda tough to get into at first, but it ages really well.

Listened to all four hundreds of times. I guess GUP would get the nod because of "Afterimage".

^^GUP is indeed a great album (especially Red Sector A) but Kid Gloves I find to be such a clunker that I could't vote for this album (The Body Electric and Red Lenses are so so too, imho... the rest is great though!)

Signals. It is 3rd era indeed, but it belongs to their masterpiece period together with the 2nd era albums.
Of the others, Hold Your Fire is the best imho.

My favorites here are in chronological order. Signals was the easiest to get into, but I'd agree with Neo-Romantic. Power Windows has aged the best out of these albums.

"Signals", by a mile. I absolutely love the songs "Kid Gloves" and "Big Money" but they're the only songs I really like on their respective albums. As far as "Signals", I remember loving the MTV video of "Subdivisions" especially with Alex saying "subdivisions" in that crazy low voice, I remember me and my friends used to laugh saying, "so that's what Alex's voice really sounds like
Besides, "Subdivisions" has my all time fave Rush song "Chemistry"!

I always like 3 songs off any Rush album because I tire of their sound---(starts to sound the same)---chose Grace Under Pressure because I sorta listened to it from start to finish a lot.
