I'm a fan. Haven't heard the new one yet. My first was Variations On A Dream.

The only one I own is the new one, and I got it on the strength of reviews on PA.
I'll get around to reviewing it one day, but I would place a rather strong health warning on it. If you love Radiohead & Muse, and don't mind bands trying to emulate and put their own slant on the influence, then this is an album for you. If you don't. then don't even bother buying it.
The jury is still out for me. At the moment, after a few listens, it's no more than a 3 star album, and I'm not tempted to get any earlier albums as yet.

Not a bad starting point for me. I'm currently up to four titles: Little Man, What We Have Sown, and Tightly Unwound. I'm not in a big hurry to get the new one though. I'd like to see more variation in the music, but admittedly haven't heard everything yet.

I like TPT! There's more of us than you think. I so far only have Little Man (reissue) and the new one Someone Here Is Missing. They often get compared to Radiohead and there is a similarity there. But there's also Muse and Porcupine Tree influences IMO.

I have yet to listen to their new album. Tightly Unwound is my favourite from them. Such a solid and beautiful album.

They certainly are different - listened to 'Variations of a dream' online - not sure what to think as yet - they may grow on me like Gnidrolog did.

They're OK, but a little too...straightforward for me? If they're like Radiohead, they're the commercial/accessible side of them, not the experimental/interesting side. However, they're very melodic, and I think they could easily have some kind of commercial breakthrough with more mainstream audiences, or at least the indie rock crowd.

I find TPT to be kind of a cross between Porcupine Tree and Radiohead, with a bit of Nine Inch Nails on Someone Here Is Missing.
Their last two, SHIM and All The Wars, are good starting points. SHIM has one of my all time favorite songs, "So We Row". Such a hypnotic riff, I can listen to it over and over! All The Wars has a string section in some songs that adds a little extra flavor.

That's a pretty good description, inforcat. I've found them to be one of those bands where any album is as good as the next. There's not a lot of variation in the music. But having said that, I love the band and have most of their stuff. One of my last purchases when I had a little money to spare was their new one. It's good.
