This is a band from Spain.

I suggest them for Eclectic or Heavy Prog.

This is an excellent band from Spain! They belong somewhere on PA for sure, but where indeed? I'm really not sure about Heavy or Eclectic as the best choices for this (though please take everything I say with a very large pinch of salt!). - To my ears this lies primarily somewhere very close to Psychedelic's territory, though with a very heavy overall feel to it, of course. There is a hell of a lot going on in these compositions, and it's very keyboard driven, and I suppose symphonic in nature to a large extent (though not really what we understand on here as Symphonic Prog).
A difficult one for me to assess...I guess it could work in a number of subs, so let's wait for the experts' opinion on where best to send it, eh? Embarrassed

Superb find again though, Svetonio. Clap Just don't know how you keep it up!! LOL

What an incredible band, thanks Svetonio! Clap

Sorry to be so very picky, but I think their name is One Of These Days & Thee Heavy Random Tone Colour Lab. I'd be grateful if you would edit the thread title. Cheers! Again, awesome suggestion...

Hmm, unless I'm missing something obvious there's a bit of a problem here. On the bandcamp page you can listen to but not download the album. I've made a cursory search of the web but can't find anywhere to get a CD or digital copy of the album. I need to log off just now but will have another look later. If anyone can help with any info in the meantime I'd appreciate it. Like I say though, I might be missing something obvious. Embarrassed

The band name is misspelled on the bandcamp page itself!  That, plus the fact that its not available for download, makes one wonder if the band itself put it on bandcamp....!

It definitely appears as though this is a magnificent project which sadly stalled at a critical stage in its evolution. As Chris has already stated, there doesn't appear to be anywhere to get hold of this music - either as a physical CD or as a digital download. Cry

A bit of background info now:
Firstly an article in Spanish from October 2011 describing the 'imminent release' of the album (it's release date according to bandcamp was back in June of that year): http://ocio.laopinioncoruna.es/agenda/noticias/nws-34599-las-cenizas-pompeya.html

Here is Google Translate's English interpretation of its content:

"The creative spirit that shook the rock and roll in the hinge that broke the 60 to the 70 is the engine that drives the group coruńés One of these Days & Thee Random Heavy Tone Colour Lab, presented in Madrid on Thursday, and that on Tuesday 25 surprise you with their melodies and space developments in the room Mardi Gras, with the British Mugstar.
Visible head of this project is Diego Veiga, who played for Jet Lag and Steelwood, and founded the now successful Lüger " When I left the band and returned to the city what I wanted to do was play and riding issues that had long, because stylistically Lüger going through other channels. And what better way to meet with a group of old friends to do it. "
The friends referred Veiga trajectories are well known musicians in the rock scene Coruńa: Joki bassist, drummer Jose Martinez and keyboardist Fernando Bonhan Vilaboy, psychedelia that found in the attachment point on which the proposal would work.
"Obviously, our main references come from German and English rock rock. One of these Days is the Pink Floyd song, and we all share a passion for the first 70-confirms-vocalist, that creative freedom at the time of the film Live at Pompeii, with the experimentation that mix. After that what you focus into other courses. I see psychedelics as a mental state of absolute creative freedom. "
Those paths that have led to experiments as instrumentalists amplify a hurdy gurdy in an excerpt from his upcoming album, in post-production and that, as expected Veiga, will be published vinyl. And not as a succession of songs, but as a suite with several movement and a unifying theme: a bitterness that the group leader reminds the spirit of Pink Floyd's Animals torn.
"the album's songs, as did also Floyd, pop melodies consist explains the musician, who recognizes the Beatles as his favorite band, but deconstructed. They have their chorus, but we took a more experimental side, with ten-minute issues that have their pop melody and instrumental developments. We seek to create tension. "
But they are the creators of The Dark Side of the Moon the only reference One of these Days, in the parts of their future disk can be traced from the fury interstellar environments Hawkwind to dream of King Crimson Islands Album: "King Crimson we love them all. We will introduce disk winds, and me each time I like jazz, and this band was a pioneer in bringing the world to the rock. "
But despite their teachers and their adherence to the old school, rejects Veiga retro label for his band: "The album is designed to sound at 70. There are many groups today who use the same references, and Black Mountain, which are not retro. We are an amalgam of influences that have come together."

The band toured to promote the album, playing one gig with British (from Liverpool) Psychedelic/Kraut Rock band Mugstar: http://mugstar.bandcamp.com/

Here is an article in English from bestacorunabars.com (Coruńa is the town where One of These Days & thee Heavy Random Tone Colour Lab were based): http://www.bestacorunabars.com/2011/11/04/going-underground/

Here's the extract from the article that relates to this tour:

"It was due to Diego (Veiga) from Bar Bristol that I went to Sala Mardi Gras. He'd organised a gig with his new band supporting a group from Liverpool called Mugstar. Both bands play 'Prog Rock'. Diego's group 'One Of These Days' write their own stuff, heavily influenced by King Crimson and Pink Floyd. I'd almost forgotten about King Crimson too. It was a cool experience seeing creative young Galician musicians passionately reviving 60s/70s sounds in a true, authentic style. I recalled several concerts from my days at London University. It was a bit like taking a trip almost 40 years back in the Tardis. The venue was packed with young Coruńese ProgRockers. I felt semi-naked without long hair and sideburns. Mugstar's music is very reminiscent of Hawkwind, who've toured Europe blasting out Pyschedelic Rock for 40+ years now."

Diego Veiga was the driving force behind One of These Days, and was formerly a member of  another fine Spanish Psyche/Kraut Rock band called Lüger: http://www.myspace.com/dieluger, http://luger.bandcamp.com/album/l-ger (free download), http://www.discogs.com/Lüger-Lüger/release/2187322

He is now playing, along with One of These Days bass player Joki (Joaquim Conejos), with another Spanish band, also from A Coruna, called WolRuS: http://wolrus.bandcamp.com/album/chasin-the-light, this album being released very recently on 13th December last year, & Diego is their most recent member (http://desconcierto.com/musica/Destacados/entrevista-wolrus)  - something which makes me think that all activity relating to One of These Days has now ceased.

The other two One of These Days members, José M. Martinez “Bonham” and Fernando G Vilaboy, previously played with Samesugas, whose debut album 'ˇAlá Vai!' was also recorded and mastered at Bonham Studios (A Coruńa), where 'A Peaceful Nacht In Hell' was produced: http://www.discogs.com/Samesugas-Al%C3%A1-Vai/release/2874741

Fernando also played with a band called 'The Elephant Band', and José with two other bands - Deluxe and The Majestics, none of which have any connection with prog (you can find them on RYM if you want to check them out).

One of These Days & thee Heavy Random Tone Colour Lab has a facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/ONE-OF-THESE-DAYS-Thee-Heavy-Random-Tone-Colour-Lab/185982474786438, & they posted this statement there on 3rd July last year: "...and still label search... hope to release soon our bandcamp so you go listening to disk in digital format... ", but there has not been much posted since.
There are a few short videos from the making of the album, and the English version of their bandcamp biography is on there too, and it reads thus:

ONE OF THESE DAYS: "The word is switched on".

"For the site of confrontation with great things, it is silence that is appropriate". Frederich Nietzsche.
With the same clairvoyance with which a child is concious that very soon he will witness a war, absolute silence anounces to us a great roar. Communion is served, "the soma" that cures all our troubles is located in bordem and there are no more rebel words after a long preparatory, resonant and defiant silence. When the four men of the apocalypse (Joki, Bonham, Fernando Vilaboy and Diego Viega) break the seals that anounce good news "The world is finished" it will anounce the revelation to which one of these days is not a recomended group for a happy world or for those who have decided to live in a well being society.

The trumpets warn of an unwritten, unknown future. Everything is evident, tangible and in the end, the music can be seen. The scene is set and the drugs have distilled directly into your blood. The music is not just for amusement, it's something more serious, like a weapon of kindness.
In words of their American producer Paul Ronnie "I understand music to be a liturgical act, a message from the beyond, wrapped up in a semiconsious meditation but in a spaced and physical concept, the music is like a large mass of flesh that sticks between your teeth and which we play with to rub against our tongue". Ronnie who in the 70s produced various German and Italian prog-rock bands has returned after ten years of spiritual retreat in the Mojave Desert. He has made a comeback to do what he does best, create chaos or in this case to help cause chaos.
"There is something very sinister in all this, a dark light that speaks to us that tells us the impolute does not exist. If the gods were to raise their heads ONE OF THESE DAYS would burn happily in the most enjoyable hell"

roge fdez, an artist from 73.

Shocked

We live in hope...but we cannot add this fine band to PA if there is no means of obtaining their music in a format that can be taken away and stored somewhere - either on CD, or as decent quality digital files. Unhappy

Yes, I see now, but there's not enough space for one more *e*.

I will cut it, because 'One Of These Days' is enough for searching.

Glad you like them.

And it appears there is hope after all...Via facebook, I got the following from Diego Veiga (the main driving force behind the band):

"Thanx for you message. We're working on a digital download right now but first we are gonna make a "crowd funding" campaing to get the money to release the vinyl.

So if you're interested, keep on touch. We'll keep you informed about news in our page.

Thanx again!!!"

Diego Veiga.

I will remain on the case, and post back here when I know anything...! Tongue

What is verkami?
Verkami is a crowdfunding platform that puts together interesting projects, creators with innovative ideas and patrons willing to make them come true.

Project description:

FIRST MOVEMENT.
The band, with the long and hard to remember name, needs help from the lovers of the ancient art of musicianship and progressive psychedelic rock, to
release their début Album "A Peaceful Nacht In Hell (in Four Movements)", recorded in 2012 and only incomplete by the absence of a physical vinyl release on a double "gatefold" LP.
The album, a collection of influences ranging from Pink Floyd to King Crimson via Deep Purple, was recorded live in three days in Bonham Studios (A Coruńa, Spain) and features artwork created by noted Galician artist
Iria Rodriguez. You can listen us on our bandcamp (only one of the four tracks though now, sadly Disapprove)

SECOND MOVEMENT.
The money will go to the manufacture of 400 "limited edition" Albums in the sturdy 180g vinyl format. with "gatefold" sleeve.
In addition, for the more discerning collectors, We shall be creating special edition artwork, limited to 100 copies.
This limited edition includes:

  • 5 Illustrations taken from the album artwork (Glicée prints on 100% cotton paper) signed and numbered by Iria Rodriguez, author of the original album design.
  • T-shirt printed in four colours on quality fabric.
  • Our vinyl gatefold edition.
  • Packaged within it's very own fitted case.

THIRD MOVEMENT.
ONE OF THESE DAYS & Thee Random Heavy Tone Colour Lab consists of four experienced musicians from the Corunese scene:
vocalist and guitarist Diego Veiga came from the bands "Steelwood" and "Lüger" (Madrid), he played bass for "Jet Lag" (National)
and currently combines this project playing keys in the country-rock band "WolRuS" ; bassist Joaquim Conejos "Joki" is also currently involved in "WolRuS" and was also in "Steelwood", "The Virginals" and "Woocake". Keyboardist Fernando Vilaboy, Hammond God of the legendary mod band "Elephant Band" and "Mega Purple Sex Toy Kit" and; drummer, Jose M. Martinez "Bonham", renowned producer and percussionist for "Deluxe", "The Majestics" and "Miguel Costas" (ex-Siniestro Total), among many others.

Yes indeed - and the kitty for the vinyl version is short by just 35 euros now!
3 days to scrape together the sum of 35 euros seems eminently doable to me...Success is just around the corner, I feel! Party

On LP and not CD?  I is confused.  I would donate, but I don't see the point in getting an LP that I can't listen to...

Yeah, it is unusual that they've gone down this route, but just 5 euros will get you a download of the album. That seems to be the way most non-audiophiles purchase their music these days I guess, so the band seem to be catering for the two extremes of the market and ignoring the people in the middle who ain't too fussy about quality, but who nevertheless like to have something they can physically hold and treasure for eternity for their money.  Ermm

Apart from this project, I think that package for present day audiophile and (or) a collector ought to contain both  vinyl LP  and CD, also a code for download a digital album  + T-shirt with printed band's logo and (or)  that album artwork.

Anyway, cheeeeeeBeereers for One Of These Days !
