My dad loves Dream Theater

I like some of their stuff, but it's a bit too dramatic for me. And too cleanly produced

Never really got into that guy. Not really a country guy myself, just never been my thing. Americana and Roots Rock can be pretty cool.

Yes, a '72 performance from KC is the best '99 album... here's actual '99 music:

Stupid Dream - Porcupine Tree

Koto-uta - Toshio Hosokawa

Symphony No. 6: At the End of the Day - Per Nørgård

Rajaz - Camel

Masque - ProjeKct 3

Good Dog, Happy Man - Bill Frisell

New Ancient Strings - Toumani Diabaté

Apple Venus Volume 1 - XTC

Requiem - Branford Marsalis

Darktown - Steve Hackett

The Violence of Amateurs - French TV

The Repercussions of Angelic Behavior - Rieflin, Gunn & Fripp

Niafunké - Ali Farka Touré

A Wish - Hamza el- Din

Nostradamus: Book of Prophecies - Solaris

II - Bass Communion

Pointless Reminder - Free System Projekt

Águas da Amazônia - Philip Glass / Uakti

A Part, and Yet Apart - Bill Bruford's Earthworks

Mars Polaris - Tangerine Dream

A Mere Coincidence - The Science Group

Ravvivando - Faust

Delta Flora - Hughscore

Fascinoma - Jon Hassell

Scenes from a Memory for me, either that or Stupid Dream. Also, Still Life is an incredible album even though I can't say I've listened to it a lot yet.

No, no he's perfect for that band. I'm just bashing on the poor guy. LOL No, but like he's great for Dream theater. I can't really see anybody else fronting the band.

No matter. The bottom line is that lately I see James getting crapped on a lot for his voice. I mean, it wasn't his fault that his voice turned rusty in '94. So I was thinking if DT fans would feel a whole lot differently about James and the band if he was subbed by someone else at the time.
